Our Bakery

Little Peaks Bakeshop is a licensed, Durango Cottage Food bakery set-up in our own home and run as an online ordering/delivery business. 

Little Peaks Bakeshop runs primarily as a Bread or Pastry Subscription program that allows subscribers to sign up 4 weeks at a time for 1 loaf of bread or pastry type/week. Additional weekly breads and pastries are available by online ordering for all customers, and are delivered on Thursday or Friday between 4-6 PM.  We also have a program to donate fresh bread to the Durango Food Bank each week, helping to give back to those in need in our community!


Every loaf and baked product is handmade in the traditional way, using ingredients we eat ourselves and believe in.  We love good food and sharing it with the people in our community, which is why we started LPB.

LPB is run by Micki and Assad, a married couple who share a deep passion for food and the outdoors.  Micki is a born-and-raised Coloradoan from Grand Junction, and Assad grew up in a family of restaurant owners in Mumbai, India.  Micki is the sole baker of the operation and is completely self-taught.  She is passionate about learning and experimenting, and brings that to her breads and pastries.  After starting Little Peaks Bakeshop in Denver as a wholesale bakery, providing French-style pastries to different coffee shops around the city, they decided to bring their baked goods to Southwest Colorado.  They love the outdoors, especially kayaking, and first met at a kayak race in Glenwood Springs. 

Here at Little Peaks, we specialize in sourdough breads and a variety of pastries. We offer a Bread & Pastry Subscription Program that allows subscribers to sign up 4 weeks at a time for a loaf of bread or 2-4 pastries/week.  Our breads and pastries will rotate each week and be available for online ordering for both subscribers and non-subscribers!


We are curious eaters, and try to bring new ideas into our baked goods.  Along with traditional recipes with inspiration from our travels, we are always trying to find new combinations to share.  Above all else, taste is our number one priority, and we hope you see that in our products!

We believe in the flavor and nutritional value of naturally-leavened goods, and try as much as possible to use our sourdough starter in our recipes. Our flours and grains are all organically grown- and we also use our table-top mill to freshly mill grain to bring out subtle flavors in our goods.  Ingredients are important to us, and we try to source the tastiest possible in all of our baked goods!
